River Jam returns in July

Category: community 561

Organizers of the 2023 River Jam event are asking all artists interested in performing this year to submit an application on or before March 31.

Mad Mary were one of the performers at the last River Jam in 2019.

Described as one of Fredericton’s heritage music events, River Jam dates back decades and was founded as a way for the local community to celebrate its own while also raising money for local school music programs. To date, this non-profit organization has injected thousands of dollars into local schools thanks to the generosity of local music lovers and the many participating artists who donate their time each and every year to perform on one of four stages throughout the Delta Hotel.

Traditionally, it is also the event where the Diane London Award is handed out to recognize and celebrate a local musician, artist, or arts related woman making a difference within the city’s vibrant music community. Previous winners of the award include Kelly Waterhouse, Emma Chevarie, Krista Touesnard, Tania Breen, Jennifer Russell, and several others dating back to the award’s inception in 2005.

This year’s River Jam will take place July 7.

Submissions and questions should be directed to riverjamfredericton@gmail.com
