Virtual Events Hosted by the Fredericton Public Library

The Fredericton Public Library partner with Battle of the Arts NB and the New Brunswick African Association Inc. to host language, music and history workshops as part of African Heritage Month.

The Fredericton Public Library staff and foundation board invite the public to join in a full month of online programming arranged in partnership with Battle of the Arts NB and New Brunswick African Association Inc.

A full week of events are planned beginning February 1. 

African Drumming Workshop (February 1 | 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.) with Saa Andrew in partnership with Sunlife Financial (drum will be placed on hold for registrants at the library).  

African Craft (February 1 | 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.)with Yusuf Shire (register to pick up your craft materials at the library)  

Segregated in Life and Death (February 3 | 12 to 1 p.m. ) with Dr. Mary McCarthy-Brandt, PhD  

Being Black in New Brunswick (February 4 | 1 to 2 p.m.) with Dr. Jessie Sagawa, PhD.

Pan Africanism 101 (February 4 | 6 to 7 p.m.) with Cliff Nombato  

African Drumming Workshop (February 8 | 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.) with Saa Andrew in partnership with Sunlife Financial (drum will be placed on hold for registrants at the library). 

Learn Swahili (February 8 | 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.) with Yusuf Shire 

Anyone interested in any of the programs is asked to email Fredericton Public Library at ftonpub@gnb.ca or call 460-2800 to register. All events will be hosted via Zoom. A Zoom link will be sent to you once you are registered for the event by the library.
