Woody Holler & his Orchestra

Woody Holler started out yodeling at an early age, went on to fall in love with jazz, and later trained as an opera singer. Drawing from this eclectic experience, and accompanied by Winnipeg’s finest folk and jazz musicians, Holler has developed a western swing style that he describes as “jazz from the saddle.” Together, these skilled musicians create clever arrangements that are rich with virtuosity and style. In concert, Woody Holler and his Orchestra is fun and fascinating, featuring finger-snapping swing beats, honey-slowed love croons and show-stopping “extreme” yodeling.

The Enbridge Backstage Bash

The Enbridge Backstage Bash, presented by National Bank, will be rockin’ on stage Saturday, February 20.

For this special fundraising event, the Playhouse invites guests to join them backstage for an unforgettable evening centred around the high energy music of the Mellotones, an amazing eight-piece, R&B funk band. Performing from a specially constructed stage placed over the seats of the Playhouse, this high-energy group is sure to get you moving.

This is the only fundraising event held by the Fredericton Playhouse, with proceeds supporting our education and outreach programming including our School Field Trips program and the Arts are for Everyone access program.

In 2015, funds raised by this event helped support many of the Playhouse’s outreach initiatives.

Presenting five school matinee performances to nearly 2,000 local students;
Hosting 14 Experience More! learning opportunities for 1,219 individuals;
Providing over 500 complimentary tickets through the Arts are for Everyone community access program to those facing barriers to participation; and
Presenting 30 world class professional live performances in dance, theatre, and music as part of our flagship Spotlight Series.

The event will include the Enbridge Backstage Bash Raffle offering a chance to win one of two fabulous prize packages. One lucky winner will receive the fabulous grand prize – two tickets anywhere WestJet flies. This year’s event will also feature a silent auction.
