Folk music fans take note. The eleventh annual Tay Creek Folk Festival is right around the corner.
As with every summer music festival that takes place around these parts, the Tay Creek Folk Festival has an identity all its own. Situated in the heart of rural New Brunswick, this annual gathering of folkies young and old prides itself in creating a music rich environment ideal for the whole family, attracting performers from across the Maritimes, Quebec and Ontario.
This year’s lineup includes 19 artists with headline performances from The Marwills (Toronto), The Barrowdowns (Halifax) and the Gypsy Kumbia Orchestra (Montreal).
Fredericton promoter and live music enthusiast Eddie Young has been programming the festival’s entertainment for the past two years and is really looking forward to the 2018 event.
“I am really excited for this year’s festival,” said Young, who books live music performances throughout the capital region while also running his own annual festival, the Living Roots Music Festival. “Working with this committee has been great. They trust in my vision of making this a destination festival where folks will come and camp for the weekend and take it all in including workshops, vendors, and artists. We also encourage families to come and enjoy as we have activities planned for them as well.”
In addition to live music, the Tay Creek Folk festival also offers a variety of workshops from song to craft, a range of kids programming, hiking and biking trails and is situated conveniently next to the River Tay, ideal for a mid summer swim.
