Symphony New Brunswick welcomes back guest conductor Lucas Waldin to the podium for Galactic Journey, an evening of music showcasing themes from Star Wars, and beyond. 

Symphony New Brunswick welcomes back guest conductor Lucas Waldin to the podium for Galactic Journey, an evening of music showcasing themes from Star Wars, and beyond. In addition to over a dozen tracks from the Star Wars franchise, concertgoers will blast deeper into space with music from Star Trek, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Apollo 13, Superman Returns, music by David  Bowie, and much more. 

Waldin is a dynamic and versatile conductor whose performances have delighted audiences across North America. He has collaborated with some of the most exciting artists of  our time, leading such extravaganzas as Disney in Concert, Blue Planet Live, and Cirque de la  Symphony. New Brunswick audiences may remember Waldin from his appearance last season with The Magical Music of Harry Potter.

“It’s wonderful to be back in New Brunswick and to share this great music with audiences in  Saint John, Fredericton and Moncton,” says Waldin. “We’ve got a terrific line-up of pieces  drawn from some of the most popular cinematic experiences of all time”. 

Galactic Journey is the second concert tour of Symphony New Brunswick’s 2021-2022 season. It continues the orchestra’s commitment to bring exceptional live concert experiences to the  province.  

“Our fascination with the mysteries of space has sparked the imaginations of storytellers in  every art form,” says Reid Parker, president of Symphony New Brunswick. “We’re excited to  present this riveting collection of space-based favourites under the stellar baton of Lucas  Waldin and our own all-star cast of musicians. It truly promises to be an incredible journey of  galactic proportions!”

Nov. 21 | Capitol Theatre | 2:00 p.m.

To ensure the health and safety of audiences and performers, there will be no intermission.  Following COVID-19 safety guidelines, all audience members 12 and older must present proof  of vaccination and photo ID. Audience members must be masked at all times inside the  performance venues.
