The Alex Bailey Swing Band Perform at the York Street Train Station March 12
Bread and Roses with the Alex Bailey Swing Band, an International Women’s Day event and fundraiser for the NB Coalition for Pay Equity, will take place on Thursday, March 12 at 8pm at the York Street Train Station, located at 380 York St. This will be an evening of swing dancing with the Alex Bailey Swing Band, testimonies from workers affected by pay inequity, and feminists on their activism and achievements in the past year.
“We play the Bread and Roses event every year because it’s for a very important cause – equal pay for women,” said Alex Bailey. “Together, we’re raising money for the NB Coalition for Pay Equity, who are fighting for equality and fairness. We really enjoy playing for social justice causes that are aiming to make our world a better place”
This event is supported by Reproductive Justice New Brunswick, Fredericton Youth Feminists, Fredericton and District Labour Council, Fredericton Voice of Women for Peace, STU Women’s Studies and Gender Studies, and FAUST.
