Steve Marriner is the next musician slated to perform as part of Music Runs Through It’s Up Close and Personal series.

Marriner is a founding member of the two-time Juno Award winning blues trio MonkeyJunk and has performed with many prominent musicians including Fabulous Thunderbirds, Harry Manx and American blues singer Kim Wilson.

An accomplished multi-instrumentalist, his introduction to the blues came via his early interest in harmonica. He started playing the harmonica at age 11 and now has five Maples Blues Awards for Harmonica Player of the Year to his credit. In 2009, he won both the Harmonica Player of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year.

Marriner was also a major contributor to Ross Neilsen’s 2016 album Elemental, contributing harmonica, baritone/electric/high strung guitars, keys, drums, vibraphone, and backing vocals as well as acting as the project’s producer and co-writer on several tracks.
