Stephen Lewis and the Big Band of Fun are about to kick off their most ambitious summer tour to date. The band have announced more than 40 summer dates spread across three continents with stops at some major international festivals including Mountain Jam, Burning Man and the UK’s BoomTown Fair.

“It’s literally a dream come true for me to be able to tour all over the world with some of my best friends,” said Lewis, who booked the entire tour himself. “Before I even really got into using a loop pedal I used to watch live videos of Zach Deputy performing at Mountain Jam. That was six years ago and now I get to go and perform at the very same festival. It definitely sounds cheesy but these experiences are literal dream-come-true scenarios for me.”

Lewis has been sharing his loop-based, funk inspired jams with East Coast audiences since the release his solo debut in 2012.  After mastering the use of a loop pedal to mix bass, guitar and rhythm as an impressive one-person act, he began working other musicians into the fold. Now performing as Stephen Lewis & The Big Band of Fun together guitarist Jonah Hache, drummer Marco LeBreton and William Lombardelli (aka Friendship) on trombone, the band have shared festival stages The Floozies, TAUK, Chali2na, Zach Deputy, That1Guy, Dubfx, The Funk Hunters and many others, injecting their own unique and undeniable energy into every performance.

The band kicks off this summer’s massive tour with a show this week at The Capital Complex.
