Saint John Nu Metal revivalists Sonic Detour have generated a serious amount of online attention since the release of their debut, self-titled EP back in 2020. By releasing an official video for every song on the seven track release, plus numerous play-throughs, interviews and band member profiles, Sonic Detour have quickly become regional leaders in the use of video content, staying busy in a time when performing live is a rarity.
The band’s latest release caps off an ambitious run of videos, both homemade and professionally shot, presenting audiences with a full range of looks and approaches to marketing their music. From the serious to the humorous, the band presents itself as one that is as serious about their music as they are casual.
A Gentleman So Supreme, the final video from their existing public catalogue, takes viewers on a walk through uptown Saint John. Passing local landmarks with occasional nods to growing social issues, each member of the band makes a cameo appearance in this final film which precedes the release of the band’s forthcoming next chapter.
