Fredericton theatre company invites expression of interest to join board from folks who identify as having an intellectual and/or physical disability, Autism, or dual diagnosis.
For the past few years, Solo Chicken Productions has been working to radically rebuild their policies and company structure as part of their ‘Better Together’ initiative, reimagining what true access means for SCP with the goal of building a resilient, relevant company that is financially stable, champions inclusion and is ready to face current and future challenges. One of the ways they plan to actualize these goals is to grow their Board of Directors to more fully reflect the communities they serve, play and work with.
With this in mind, SCP are putting out a specific invitation for expressions of interest to join their board of directors from working professionals, artists, and community members who identify as having an intellectual and/or physical disability, Autism, or dual diagnosis. They are also interested in hearing from able-bodied/neurotypical individuals who have personal or professional experience advocating for accessibility and inclusion.
About the Board
Not sure what being on a Board of Directors is all about? Essentially a Board of Directors is a group of people who commit to providing oversight and guidance to a company. As a Solo Chicken Board Member, you will attend up to four in-person/virtual meetings a year and help the company to engage fully with its mission by supporting productions, fundraisers, and events.
