One of the world’s most famous classical ballets, Sleeping Beauty tells the enchanting story of Aurora and her prince, complete with inherently magical qualities, dazzling choreography, stunning costumes and captivating set design, featuring the classic score by Tchaikovsky.

Widely recognized for its innovation, warmth, humour and beauty, Canada’s Ballet Jörgen is the only major Canadian ballet company with a repertoire that consists exclusively of original works.

The company has gained national and international recognition, propelling Canada’s Ballet Jörgen to the forefront of the North American dance scene, sharing ballet performances with more than 50,000 audience members each year from coast to coast in Canada and the northern United States.

In addition to this performance, the Playhouse is presenting an Experience More! Ballet Repertory Class on Thursday, April 14 at 7 p.m. Intended for ballet students age 13 to 16, company dancers will lead this class, using choreography from their touring production to explore the art of telling a story through movement. Participants will examine the stages of learning choreography, applying musicality, personality and precision to their role.
