Saint John Theatre Company Announce Season Postponements

Category: stage 366

Saint John Theatre Company productions of Driving Miss Daisy and Mary Poppins carried over to 2021.

SJTC’s upcoming production of Mary Poppins is one of two major shows being rescheduled for 2021.

(Saint John) In the spring of 2020 the SJTC was forced to postpone its Main Stage productions of Driving Miss Daisy and Mary Poppins in light of Coronavirus developments.

The March production of Driving Miss Daisy has been rescheduled to March 24-27, 2021 and the May production of Mary Poppins, originally reschedule to November 2020, has been further pushed out to May 19-22, 2021.

“Mary Poppins is a project that should be shared with as many people as possible. In this age of social distancing, it would be impossible for more than a few hundred people to see it if we were to proceed with our November dates,” said Stephen Tobias, Artistic Director, SJTC. “I felt strongly that it would be best to proceed prudently and wait until the spring when there is a much greater likelihood of being again allowed to fill the Imperial theatre to capacity, and a capacity audience is certainly what an amazing musical like Mary Poppins will deserve.”

Imperial Theatre box office will be reaching out to single ticket holders and subscribers to confirm the new dates. Ticket holders can request a new e-ticket or paper ticket, however their original ticket will be valid for the same performance day/time during the rescheduled dates. Assigned seats will also remain the same. Customers who wish to do so can request a full refund for these performances.

For more information on Main Stage performances please contact the Imperial Theatre box office at 506-674-4100.
