Oil Painting for Beginners/Intermediate
Manami Fukuda’s popular oil painting class is now offering an option for past students to advance their skills by choosing their own subject matter! Bring a few reference photos the first week, and Manami will help you choose a suitable image for the six-week time period.
For beginners, this introductory class focuses on “still life.” In this six week course, you will learn about shapes of objects, light, composition, perspective and colour. The subject image will be provided. With lots of one-on-one help, you will begin with step-by-step understanding of the layering method of painting to create a range of tones, texture, clarity, and shape. After you learn the basic skills of oil painting, you will be supported to develop your own style and personal techniques later on. This goal of this class is to get comfortable and familiar with using oil paints, and of course to discover the pleasure and rewards of creating your art!
