Roxy & the Underground Soul Sound will bring the funk to Fredericton and Moncton to celebrate upcoming album release.
To celebrate the release of their forthcoming album, Stand Up, Halifax-based Roxy & The Underground Soul Sound will be heading to the province next week for a pair of shows – Oct. 4 at The Capital in Fredericton and Oct. 5 in Moncton as part of this year’s Mud City Meltdown.
At the forefront of the soul revival movement out here on the east coast, Roxy & TUSS are a six-piece band with “an airtight rhythm section and searing horns” that have proven to be the perfect foundation for vocalist Roxy Mercier to channel her inner Aretha. The band’s 2015 Erin Costello produced album Don’t You Know won Music Nova Scotia awards for both Urban Recording Of The Year and New Artist Recording of the Year.
Stand Up will be available October 4 via streaming platforms. The band’s hometown launch and official CD release takes place October 17 at the Seahorse Tavern in Halifax.
