Fans of the Saint John born quartet Right Shitty will soon get a chance to own a vinyl copy of the band’s breakthrough debut album Bachelor of Arts. The album will be treated to a limited release via the London, UK label Copper Feast Records.
Copper Feast founder Callum Pope came across the album while searching for new music online and decided it would be a great first release to launch his label.
“I came across the album not long after it came out digitally through one of my many ‘down the rabbit hole’ Bandcamp moments while I was really into some similar sort of punk artists like FIDLAR, Jay Reatard, Thee Oh Sees and King Gizzard at the time,” he said. “I just sort of stumbled across it and couldn’t stop listening!”
The album received considerable attention regional when it was first released in March of 2016 earning the group several nominations in Local 107.3 FM’s annual Best of Saint John poll and winning awards for Best Album and Best Song. It was also included on our very own 100 Essential New Brunswick releases of 2016.
“Bachelor of Arts is a huge album. It’s a statement of intent, read loud and clear for all to hear. The guitars are big and loose and at times, cleverly sloppy. And the band, solid and dynamic right to the last note.”

“I’ve been meaning to get a small DIY label going this last year and when I found out – to my surprise – that nobody had pressed Bachelor of Artsbefore I thought it was the perfect fit for our first release,” said Pope. “Luckily Pat [Bonner] and the guys were up for it too so now we’ve just set the wheels in motion with the pressing plant. I’ve got no doubt that once people hear the album they’ll want to buy the record, so our challenge at the moment is getting it to as many ears as possible.”
The album will be released in a limited coloured vinyl run of 250. Pre-orders are now open.
