Neighbourhood Watch rally New Brunswick punks for second annual SPCA/Animal Welfare Fundraiser.
Punks 4 Paws is in its second year, and coming back bigger and better than before.
This year, 13 bands are joining forces across three cities – Fredericton, Moncton, and Saint John – to raise money for local SPCAs and animal welfare.
These aren’t just any bands either. All well-established with strong followings – you’re in for a night of solid entertainment regardless of which event you attend. Many fans are gearing up to attend all three shows, as the lineups won’t disappoint, with proceeds going directly to the respective local animal rescues.
Punks 4 Paws host band, Neighbourhood Watch, was first formed in 1984 and became an influential part of the east coast punk scene. Band founder, Ciaron Lewis’ background in animal rescue spans the rescue and rehabilitation of street dogs in Mexico to advocating against breed specific laws (BSL) in Ontario. Lewis created Save Ontario Dogs, and spent over 10 years assisting families and victims affected by BSL.
Now back in NB, Lewis says, “Animals make a big impact in peoples’ lives, and need someone to be their voice. We’ve got a loud one and don’t mind using it.”
