Winnipeg’s Greg Rekus brings his one-man, cross-Canada, punk rock tour de force to Fredericton this week as part of his national Punkoustic tour.
Since leaving the band High Five Drive and taking to the road as a solo artist over four years ago, Rekus has spent more than six months a year in cars and vans traveling through Europe, The United States and Canada sharing his brand of rowdy, entertaining acoustic punk. One part Spirit of the West, one part Tony Sly, and one part Stompin’ Tom Connors, Rekus’ second full-length album might not go down as a Canadian classic, but it’s a damn fun listen.
