The Harvest Jazz & Blues Festival today turned heads, announcing that Trey Anastasio Band (TAB) will headline its 2017 edition, September 12-17. The most anticipated act in Harvest history, this show featuring Anastasio’s well-honed septet will mark the group’s only Canadian festival date this year, giving Fredericton exclusive access to the rock legend and frontman for Phish.

“Trey Anastasio is an otherworldly musical force and being able to present him is a coup for Harvest,” said Brent Staeben, Harvest’s Music Programmer. “ He’s not only a mind-bending guitarist and formidable front man for Phish, but his spirit of collaboration lends itself perfectly to his once-in-a-generation talent. While his resume surely speaks for itself, I think what most stands out for me is that this is the guy who the Grateful Dead asked to sit in for the late Jerry Garcia at their 2015 farewell concerts. Rock music lovers need only hear the name Trey to know exactly who you mean. ”

Over the past three decades, the composer/guitarist/vocalist Anastasio has forged a multi-faceted career, winning acclaim in rock, classical and theatrical circles. He has received Grammy nominations both for his recordings with Phish and his solo works. He has collaborated with such artists as Dave Matthews, Herbie Hancock, Carlos Santana, B.B. King, The Roots and – as part of the trio Oysterhead – Les Claypool (Primus) and Stewart Copeland (The Police). When he’s not sending legions of Phish-heads into musical delirium, Trey can be found on the road with this incredibly tight and hard-hitting septet, the Trey Anastasio Band.

The Trey Anastasio Band will headline the Moose Light Blues tent on Friday, September 15th.

Trey Anastasio Band will join previously announced headliners Colin James, Bruce Cockburn, Steve Earle and the Dukes, Martha Wainwright, Sloan, The Revivalists, Matt Andersen, Lettuce, Brandon “Taz” Niederauer, The Marcus King Band, Terra Lightfoot, Sonya Rae and the Sleepwalkers, The National Reserve, Matt Minglewood Band, Garrett Mason, Keith Hallett, Downtown Blues Band, Christine Campbell Band, Earle and Coffin, Joe Murphy & The Water Street Blues Band, Amanda Jackson Band, The Gary Sappier Blues Band, The Honeyboys, Buck Tingley, Laurent Couturier & The Rusty Mikes, Blind Dog, and Quinn Bonnell .
