On Tuesday, October 27 at 7:30 p.m. the Fredericton Playhouse Spotlight Series presents internationally acclaimed contemporary dance company O Vertigo, performing their choreographic jewel, les petites formes.
Under the leadership of choreographer, artistic director and founder Ginette Laurin, Montreal-based dance company O Vertigo is known for its expressive power and the unerring realization of its artistic vision.
One of the foremost figures in contemporary dance in the country, and recently named to the Order of Canada, Laurin, along with her team of collaborators, creates a world full of poetry and emotions in her work.
Les petites formes demonstrates Laurin’s astonishing ability to remain vital and relevant over time, featuring solos, duets and a quartet from O Vertigo’s repertoire over the last 20 years. This extraordinary composition captures five moments in the journey of a choreographer who has shaped the evolution of Canadian dance. Les petites formes revisits some of Laurin’s defining works in a format that encourages closeness between dancers and spectators.
