A fundraising event for a new Fredericton theatre company. April 28 at the Open Space Theatre.
Fredericton theatre startup Non-Stop Theatrics will host a coffee house fundraiser on April 28 at TNB’s Open Space Theatre. The funds from this event will go directly towards the company’s upcoming inaugural season.
The evening begins at 7 p.m. and will feature loads of entertainment from a cast of Fredericton theatre artists, comedians and musicians. There will be play readings! There will be comedy! There will be songs!
Non-Stop Theatrics is a company with a primary focus on giving emerging and established artists opportunities to work on well-known plays and musicals together, promoting mentorship across all roles in the theatre. Company founders Naomi McGowan and Caroline Coon also have a strong interest in producing work by emerging playwrights, with a focus on New Brunswick and Atlantic Canadian voices.
“As we grow, our efforts will extend to a diverse range of offerings, including workshops, performance opportunities, and dedicated practice spaces,” said McGowan and Coon in a recent announcement. “As co-artistic directors with a wide range of experience between the two of us, including acting, directing, writing, intimacy directing, stage managing and producing, we feel equipped for this challenge and are excited to continue learning and growing from this new chapter.”
