Artsnb grants $71,199.95 across its Artist in Residence and Career Development programs.
(Fredericton) The New Brunswick Arts Board (artsnb) has released the results of the September 1, 2023 competitions for the Artist in Residence and Career Development programs. Grants totaling $71,199.95 were awarded by juries of professional artists in these two (2) funding programs. These funds were allocated as follows:
Artist in Residence Program
Nine (9) Artist in Residence grants were awarded, totaling $51,200. This program provides opportunities for organizations in New Brunswick to host visiting artists for up to a year, and to professional artists who seek to advance their creative work through participation in residency opportunities at home or outside the province, or for residency opportunities in Quebec as per an agreement with the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec.
Career Development program
Thirteen (13) grants were awarded for the Career Development program, totaling $19,999.95. This program, divided into 3 components, provides financial assistance to professional artists wishing to enhance their practice through travel, study, and promotion.

The New Brunswick Arts Board is an arm’s length arts funding agency with a legislated mandate to facilitate and promote the creation of art as well as administering funding programs for professional artists in the province. Most of the funding for these programs is provided through the province’s Arts Development Trust Fund and by the Department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture.
