Gallery 78 to host artist talks as part of the Art Dealers Association of Canada’s 50th anniversary celebration event.
This weekend, Gallery 78 will represent New Brunswick as part of a national gallery hop organized by the Art Dealers Association of Canada. This event marks the first time ADAC members from across the country will participate in a national gallery hop and includes over 50 galleries in 13 different cities, each highlighting the work of Canadian artists.
“Gallery 78 is a very long-time member of the Art Dealers Association of Canada,” said Gallery 78 Managing Director Germaine Pataki-Thériault. “The membership is known for its specialization in fine art and high ethical standards. It is a great pleasure when events are undertaken by ADAC that are national in scope as it allows for eastern inclusion in the Canadian art narrative.”
The gallery will host talks by two prominent Fredericton artists, each sharing their knowledge and experience with the public as part of the event.
“Senior Fredericton artists David McKay, RCA and Stephen May will discuss their art practice starting at 1 p.m. on Saturday with David talking about his use of egg tempera and watercolour throughout his 40 years as a professional artist,” said Pataki-Thériault. “Stephen May will follow at approximately 1:30 p.m. and in keeping with our current exhibition Figures will discuss the figure in art history and how it has informed his work.”
ADAC dealers are selected for their knowledge and scholarship in their respective fields of expertise. Gallery 78 is the only ADAC member in New Brunswick.
