David in the Dark’s Evan LeBlanc will perform solo at Corked Wine Bar Thursday April 5.
Evan LeBlanc has spent the last three years performing as a member of the Fredericton rock outfit David in the Dark. Since releasing their debut EP in April 2015, the band, guided in part by LeBlanc’s distinct voice and love-laden songwriting, have become festival favourites on the New Brunswick summer festival circuit.
As a solo performer, LeBlanc offers an intimate take on songs he’s written for the band as well as sharing songs he’s kept completely his own.
“I love playing solo because I don’t get to do it very often,” said LeBlanc. “It’s so nice to step away from the fast pace of the band, strip everything down and play my songs the way they were originally written with just me and my guitar. I love being able to get back to that once in a while.”
With his first performance as part of the Music Runs Through It series, LeBlanc joins an impressive list of musicians to perform on the Corked Wine Bar stage including Garrett Mason, Steve Poltz, Christina Martin and Ryan Cook among several others.
