It was just over two months ago when local promoter Emma Chevarie announced she would begin booking live music at York County Cider’s taproom on Main Street in Fredericton under the Music Runs Through It banner. For the past three years Chevarie has been hosting intimate performances at Corked Wine Bar in the city’s downtown, welcoming an impressive cast of regional, national and international performers. The move to partner with York County Cider not only hinted towards the growing popularity and increasing demand for reasonably timed live music performances (most MRTI shows are over by 10 p.m.), but also introduced the first regular series of performances to take place on the city’s north side in recent memory.

Last week welcomed more news from Chevarie with the announcement of Music Runs Through It’s Up Close and Personal Series planned to launch at Dolan’s Pub on May 30.

“The series will feature early shows on Wednesday evenings with a 7:30 start, and will showcase local and international artists,” said Chevarie. “The seating will be set up in a ‘listening room’ style, which will support an intimate setting, as the name suggests.”

The series will also include a Q&A with the artists following their performances. The venue’s size will also offer potential for larger acts to be featured as part of the MRTI series of shows.

“Working with Emma to curate this new series is a great way to offer even more opportunity for our patrons to experience live music and in a new format,” said Barry Hughes of Dolan’s Pub.

The series will officially launch with a performance by ECMA award winning songwriter Meaghan Blanchard.
