Shuttered Down is the latest video to surface from Motherhood’s new album Winded, and arrives with news of Western Canadian festival dates and a hometown holiday performance.

Since the release of their latest album Winded back in June of this year, Fredericton art rock trio Motherhood have remained busy connecting with audiences across Canada, Europe, and the United States. This week the band announced upcoming January festival dates in Winnipeg, Calgary and Edmonton as well as a hometown show at The Cap on December 23 with longtime friend and Flourish Festival co-founder Jane Blanchard.

In addition to announcing some upcoming performances, the band also shared their latest video. Shuttered Down (produced by Jordan Anthony Greer and Nicole Cecile Holland) features the band exploring haunted/abandoned houses in the Wolastoq river valley in New Brunswick on the hottest days of the year.

“The video explores the relationship of our internal lives to our external environment, and vice versa, in the formation of both our performative and genuine identities,” explains director Greer. “I was grateful to finally collaborate with a band I’ve admired for many years, and fortunate to do so with such a talented crew.”

The crew involved in shooting Motherhood’s latest video included Nicole Cecile Holland as DoP and Bailey Kinnear as camera assistant, both who have collaborated with Forward Music Group on videos for label mates Jennah Barry (twice) and Gianna Lauren
