‘Pick of the Pugs’ is the first new music from Motherhood since the release of Baby Teeth in 2016.
Fredericton art rock trio Motherhood have been dropping hints about their forthcoming album for months now. After debuting several new tracks in their live sets over the past year, then band have finally made some of their new music available for our at-home/on-the-go listening pleasure.
Pick of the Pugs, the first new track for surface since the release of Baby Teeth in 2016, finds the band continuing to work with Saint John engineer Corey Bonnevie (Monopolized Studios) while also enlisting the help of notable musicians Jay Crocker (JOYFULTALK) who mixed the track and Forward Music Group co-founder Kyle Cunjak who is credited as co-producer and also contributes upright bass on the track.
In addition to streaming services, Pick of the Pugs is also available on a limited edition tour cassette that also features tracks by other Fredericton acts including Young Satan in Love, Sam Salmon and Owen Steel with Motherhood as his backing band.
While the band remain tightlipped about future plans for releasing their next full album (which is rumoured to be complete), the group are staying busy on the road with a fall tour through parts of the United States and Canada.
