The Shivering Songs Festival is extremely pleased to add an impressive slew of artists to its 2017 line-up: WHOOP-Szo, Museum Pieces, Sorrey, JOYFULTALK, Roxy & The Underground Soul Sound, Tomato/Tomato, Cellarghost, The Everywheres, Dan Misha Goldman, Hum & Hollow, Hillsburn, Bad People and Some Dads. The Festival has also declared that weekend passes are nearly sold out. Now celebrating its seventh year, Shivering Songs runs January 19–22 in Fredericton, NB.

“We’re thrilled by the diversity of this announcement,” said Festival co-organizer, Zach Atkinson. “From tremendous touring acts like Whoop-Szo and the recently reunited Museum Pieces, through to some of the most buzz-worthy artists our region has to offer in JOYFULTALK and Sorrey, this truly is an exciting group of artists,” he said. “We couldn’t be happier about the schedule we’ve assembled to perform for our community.”

Organizers have also announced that the Saturday night Boyce Farmers Market bash will revive a beloved tribute to Neil Young, curated by Festival founders The Olympic Symphonium. That show will also feature a much anticipated set of original music from Shivering Songs 2017 headliner The Wooden Sky.

Furthermore, it was announced that Jim Bryson will join JOYFULTALK in a unique demonstration on Festival Friday, at the Fredericton Public Library. Dubbed This Is Your Brain On Music, the two acts will join neurologist and Dalhousie Medical School professor Dr. Wendy Stewart in this unique concert and music appreciation event. Bryson will also lead Shivering Songs’ annual songwriting intensive workshop–mentoring a number of emerging songwriters from throughout the region, in partnership with the Charlotte Street Arts Centre–in addition to supporting Tomato/Tomato on Festival Saturday at the Library. Finally, it was announced that Tomato/Tomato will also host Shivering Songs’ annual Songwriters & Storytellers afternoon at Wilmot United Church.
