Mike Biggar brings some holiday cheer and plenty of special guests to the Charlotte Street Arts Centre for a performance on Thursday Dec. 8.
Uplifting, heartwarming, inspiring, and enough Christmas fun to fill a sleigh, Mike Biggar’s Songs of the Season makes its first ever holiday stop in Fredericton this Thursday. Featuring very special guest Jessica Rhaye and a star studded backing band, this week’s show at the Charlotte Street Arts Centre is sure to put everyone in the holiday mood.
Mike and Jessica are joined by their merry stage band, The Sugar Plum Boys featuring Sandy MacKay (bass, vocals), Grant Heckman (electric guitar, vocals), Bill Prepper (guitar, mandolin, vocals), Colton Craft (piano) and Dave Bartlett on drums.
Songs of the Season features many of Biggar’s original holiday songs and Christmas standards as featured on his ECMA award-winning album The Season, together with a few of Rhaye’s favourites and original holiday music. Expect much-loved holiday duets inspired by heartwarming vintage TV Christmas specials of yesteryear, along with lots of impromptu, hilarious stage banter, heartwarming cheer and warmth.
As part of this year’s holiday tour, audiences are encouraged to bring a pair of new socks to donate to the charity 20K Sock Day.
“We have partnered up with the charitable effort 20K Sock Day which works to collect pairs of clean, dry, new socks for shelters to help folks out through the cold weather, especially,” said Biggar. “We will be collecting socks at our show.”
Songs of the Season is sure to deck the halls with holiday smiles and laughter all around, and keep a few feet warm in the process.
