Fredericton’s Living Roots Music Festival plots a triumphant return attracting artists from across Canada for four days of boundless live music entertainment June 2-5.
Go big or go home. After a couple of years involving reduced capacity performances and online events, Fredericton’s Living Roots Music Festival has announced plans to return to familiar programming with one of its biggest lineups to date. This year’s guest performers include Newfoundland and Labrador’s JUNO nominated folk ensemble Run Ragged, Nova Scotia’s Old Man Luedeke and Winnipeg psych-jazz orchestra Apollo Suns.
Living Roots 2022 will feature several evening lineups including a night of punk and ska at The Cap with Stomp Records’ K-Man & The 45’s (Montreal) and Doghouse Rose (Toronto); a local emerging artist showcase featuring a three band lineup of The Stonemasons, Ice Road Truckers and Dirac Delta; and a hip hop event featuring Ontario-based artists Fresh Kils and Mikey O’Brian.
There are plenty of local highlights included this year as well. Wicked Vices will be back on stage for their first show in many months, The Crossroad Devils will reunite for a one-time show, and Tortoise The Hare & the Millionaire will be sharing music from their forthcoming album.
This year’s festival will take place across ten city venues and include headline performances from a multitude of genres including folk, rock, roots, hip hop, ska, punk and all points in between. Quite literally something for everyone.
