New England musician kicks off album release tour in Fredericton.
New England songwriter Lina Tullgren is riding a bit of a wave at the moment. Ever since word of her debut full-length, Won, began to circulate earlier this year, she’s been getting a heavy dose of much deserved attention and praise for her intimate and personal approach to songwriting.
It’s only been a few years since she decided to give her violin a rest, pick up a guitar and start recording songs. After sending a demo to the Brooklyn’s Captured Tracks (home of Mac Demarco, Perfect Pussy and many more) the label quickly responded with interest releasing Wish List in 2016, a five-track EP that introduced Tullgren’s unique pairing of terse, reflective lyrics with spacious, open-ended melodies.
On her debut full-length, Won, released on September 22 via Captured Tracks, Tullgren expands on the simple, honest songwriting that defined her debut EP, now backed by a full band.
Her upcoming album release tour kicks off in Fredericton with a performance at Perish October 7 before moving through Central Canada and looping back down through the Northeastern United States.
