Meet the writers behind TNB’s world premiere musical holiday production, A Christmas Carol.
Join New Brunswick theatre artists Michael Doherty, Caleb Marshall and Tania Breen for a conversation about TNB’s upcoming holiday production, A Christmas Carol.
Michael is an award winning musician and recent recipient the Playhouse Honours. His work debuted with Theatre New Brunswick during the ’95-’96 season production of Billy Bishop Goes to War and for the past 12 years, Michael has written and arranged for the popular Christmas@thePlayhouse show.
“I’ve always been drawn to stories about redemption,” said Doherty. “I think A Christmas Carol is one of the best. Dickens’ rich and elegantly crafted story asks us to question our own ideas about greed, poverty and forgiveness. Do we, like Scrooge, want to make a change? To see the world and our place within it in a different way? It’s been a challenge, a joy and a privilege to imagine what the music of this world sounds like.”
This intimate event, hosted by Theatre St. Thomas’ Robin Whittaker, will take place at the Fredericton Public Library, Dec.4, 2014 at 7pm. Admission is free.
