Fox’s new single tackles growth, maturity, memory, and love. It’s everything a pop ballad should be.

Kylie Fox is one of the hardest working musicians around. At whatever point she decided to make a solid go at building a career in music, Fox surrounded herself with an incredibly skilled group of musicians, and together, they have not stopped working to make meaningful, impactful music. You don’t even have to like pop music to pick up on the strength of Fox and her band. Lyrically, musically, it’s all happening.
Fox’s latest single, Brandi Baby cleverly pulls its name from a line in the song where the protagonist has taken a look back at the years of her life and feels satisfied – grateful, even – for the path she has chosen and the direction she has been led. Put on some Brandi baby, do you want to dance?
The supporting video created in partnership with Fox’s longtime collaborator Jillian Acreman was shot during an evening wrestling event at the Capital Curling Club in Fredericton. The smiles, the body slams, the scowls, the cheers, and the boos each work to highlight the story told as if to say, “That’s life.”
Fox is definitely on the right track as each new single feels like a new career high. I don’t know if the world is ready for the forthcoming album, but we definitely need it. Now more than ever.
