Union Duke, Crazy Bones, Nick Doneff and others slated to perform at Grimross Brewing Co. this week.
July brings a little bit of everything to the Grimross stage as the uptown brewery welcomes three Ontario-based touring acts over two performances later this week. Expect psychedelic rock, heartwarming folk and energetic bluegrass as Crazy Bones, Brenda, Union Duke and PEI’s Nick Donneff all make their way to the stage.
Crazy Bones may be one of the loudest outfits to play the venue in some time. Their mix of garage and psychedelic rock is a bit of a contrast to the usual vein of performances that take place at Grimross Brewing Co., although a greater variety of acts have been performing there in recent months. It’ll be exciting to hear those aluminum kegs rattling along to Lifeblood, the opening track off the group’s 2017 10” EP, Hell’s Garden.
Joining Crazy Bones for this show is the Toronto four-piece, Brenda. Slightly more subdued in their delivery, the band embrace dynamic ebbs and flows while still managing to take things up to foundation shuddering volumes. After a pair of split releases and a single, Brenda released their debut EP, Creeper, near the tail end of 2017.
This will no doubt be an exciting evening at Grimross offering something a little different for longtime patrons, but variety is always worth celebrating, right?

Union Duke have been described as Canada’s next big folk act. The band’s high energy live performances blend modern bluegrass with sincere pop and rock influences, creating a sound and an energy that has helped the band gain a loyal following in their home province of Ontario.
PEI’s Nick Doneff has been playing throughout the region for some time as both a solo performer and a sideman with several acts. Doneff joins Union Duke for a show on July 13.
