Singing the History of the Charlotte Street School, From the 1890s Up to Present Day!

In partnership with Solo Chicken Productions & The Fredericton Playhouse

csacCelebrate the past, present and future of 732 Charlotte Street through the vibrant voices of the Stepping Stones Seniors Choir and Priestman Street School Choirs! Led by Susan & Verna Hayward, the choirs’ voices weave together a theatrical work, Honouring Yesterday, written by beloved local writer and educator, M. Anne Mitton. Actors from Theatre St. Thomas and Solo Chicken Productions bring to life the memories of Charlotte Street School alumni, which remind us of the power of our past. The show will kick off with a performance of Next Folding Theatre Company’s new work, Floorboard Jazz, exploring the emotional centre of the building as it changed from Charlotte Street School into the Charlotte Street Arts Centre. Directed by the dynamic Lisa Anne Ross of Solo Chicken Productions, History Through Song is a celebration of local history and community that is not to be missed!

The final event in the Charlotte Street Arts Centre’s 10-Year Anniversary Series, History Through Song features:

- Stepping Stones Choir directed by Verna Hayward, Priestman Street School Choirs directed by Susan Hayward, Honouring Yesterday by M. Anne Mitton, mounted by Solo Chicken Productions
and Floorboard Jazz by the Next Folding Theatre Company.
