New Brunswick’s premiere music festival to welcome acclaimed Brooklyn-based vocalist for Winter Blues Show.

The Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival has announced the Alexis P. Suter Band will headline the Winter Blues Show, March 1 at Dolan’s Pub in Fredericton.

Alexis P. Suter burst onto the music scene as a regular performer at Levon Helm’s legendary Midnight Ramble in Woodstock, NY. Mesmerized by what he called a “wonderful spirit” and a performance that feels like “she’s got her arms around you,” Helm had her open for his band nearly 100 times.

Alexis’ music is timeless and blues-based while stepping into musical waters that are eclectic, soulful and hip. She and her unique ensemble artfully blend the lines between blues, soul, roots and rock, with a voice ranging from pained passion to explosive and soul bearing.

“We are thrilled to bring such a truly powerful performer for her debut in Fredericton,” says Brent Staeben, Harvest’s Music Programmer. “Alexis’ bold voice will grip us, get us moving, and have everyone anxious for more top calibre talent when Harvest, Eastern Canada’s premiere musical experience, returns for its 28th edition this fall.”

Nominated for prestigious Blues Music Awards for Best Contemporary Female Artist in 2017,  The Koko Taylor Vocalist in 2015 and for Best Soul/Blues Female Vocalist in 2013, Alexis is currently touring a pair of 2017 releases, taking modern roots and blues to powerful places with Live at Briggs Farm (Briggs Farm Records) and All For Loving You (American Showplace Music).

The 28th edition of the Harvest Jazz & Blues Festival takes over downtown Fredericton from Sept. 11-16, 2018.

Tickets are on sale now and available online at harvestjazzandblues.com or by using a self-serve etixnow kiosk at Grimross and Graystone Breweries.
