The books you read can say a lot about your personality, but what about the books your community reads?
As another year draws to a close, we thought it would be fun to see which books where popular among Frederictonians this year so we reached out to Julia Stewart, Director of the Fredericton Public Library for help.
This year’s Top 10 lists include stories of small town resilience, World War I spies, Canadian crime fiction, vegan cooking, American politics and more than one self-help book.
“I think these lists say that the library is still a valued service, that people are reading and are finding things they love at the library,” said Stewart.
“The popularity of some titles have a direct relationship to movies getting released and the Canada Reads contest. I love how some of the titles from our Young Adult collection cross over into the Adult audiences. Also, if an item is really talked about in the media, the number of requests and check outs soars as with Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House.”
Here are the top picks listed from 1-10.
