Lucy Jarvis oil among works up for auction at annual fundraiser.
A Lucy Jarvis landscape is among more than 20 fine art works up for auction October 12 at the Fredericton Arts Alliance’s annual gala – For Arts’ Sake.
The oil painting of Bear River is an excellent example of Jarvis’ earlier work – a lively rural scene captured freely and confidently by a master painter.
Other exceptional works being offered at the gala include an intensely red mass of fall trees by Jennifer Pazienza, a bicycle by Carol Collicott, an abstract print by Alan Grabelsky as well as exciting works by Bruno Bobak, Stephen Scott, Brigid Toole Grant, Chantal Khoury, David Eastwood, Judy Blake and Charlotte Glencross.
The gala at the Charlotte Street Arts Centre begins at 7 p.m. with live music, wine and nibbles. A silent auction offers smaller paintings, books, theatre tickets, weaving and other fine crafts.
Funds raised support the FAA’s mission of supporting and advocating for the arts in the city. Specifically they help fund ArtsNEWS, Art in the Schools, Art off the Street, and the summer Artists in Residence program.
Tickets are $40 and available at Westminister Books, The Charlotte Street Arts Centre and Gallery on Queen.
