Get the inside scoop on Fredericton’s music & art festival and learn how you can help shape next year’s event.
The organizers behind Fredericton’s spring music and art festival invite the public to join them for a meeting/planning/info session on Monday July 17 at Shiftwork Studio, 384 Queen Street from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Since launching the event three years ago, the Flourish team have relied on public conversations like this to help shape and guide each new edition of the festival.
“It’s important as a festival and organization to stay in touch with the local community,” said festival co-founder Jane Blanchard. “We hold open meetings every few months to open the floor to the public and also to share what we are up to.”
Topics planned for Monday’s gathering include recapping the 2017 event, upcoming Flourish residencies and the festival’s ongoing search for board members.
“At this meeting we will be looking to expand our team with the addition of new board members and volunteers so that we can achieve some larger goals, and also gain new perspectives and fresh ideas,” said Blanchard. “We will also be doing a recap of Flourish Festival 2017 and our residency program, talking about Girls Rock Camp and introducing a weekend event we are planning for October in collaboration with the Charlotte Street Arts Centre.”
Flourish is a four day multidisciplinary music and art festival that takes place each spring in downtown Fredericton utilizing alternative spaces to showcase multiple art forms including music, film, visual art, theatre and spoken word.
