FLOURISH Festival returns to in-person programming June 15-19 in Fredericton.
Returning to a fully in-person event, Fredericton’s FLOURISH Festival has shared its initial lineup, announcing Living Hour, Eve Parker Finley, Keeper E, LXVNDR, Diner Drugs, Nick Schofield, and Awala-Wabanaki. With an expanded five-day festival schedule across 20+ venues, the 2022 edition will feature dozens of creative disciplines, including installation, fashion, music, drag, film, and visual art.
Early bird tickets will go on sale April 20 via flourish-fest.com. The Festival plans to announce an additional 60+ artists across the coming weeks.
“FLOURISH has always been about discovery, and we can’t wait for audiences to connect with new artists and ideas this year,” said Festival Director Jane Blanchard. “Presenting two years of COVID programming allowed us to get creative and gain insight into the many shapes FLOURISH can take. We look forward to carrying those experiences forward with us, as we bring audiences and artists back together.”
To complement festival programming, FLOURISH will also offer a variety of workshops, including an all-ages beginner drag workshop with New Brunswick-based drag performer Justin Toodeep. Other workshops will be hosted by programmers, literary artists, music industry professionals, and craftspeople, in partnership with MusicNB, the Maine Arts Council, and Connexion ARC.
Now in its 8th year, FLOURISH has become a leader in contemporary and emerging art presentation in New Brunswick. With a focus on all-ages and accessible programming, the Festival has set a precedent for inclusion and experimentation.
