If you missed out on grabbing a copy of FLOURISH Festival’s 2020 zine, you’re in luck. A second print run is now available with all sales going to support BLM Fredericton.
Fredericton’s FLOURISH Festival has just announced a limited reprinting of its 2020 festival zine. Created in collaboration with Fredericton poet laureate Jenna Lyn Albert, the publication is presented as a collection of 14 postcards featuring work by several artists including Sev Earle, Andrew Gaddess, Jamie Kitts, Sara Marie Nason, Emma Rhodes, and McKenna Boeckner, with design and printing by Scarlett McAllister at Rabbittown Press.
The zine is available by donation (suggested donation $10) at both The Cap and Bellwether in downtown Fredericton with 100% of funds collected going to support Black Lives Matter Fredericton. Anyone outside the GFA interested in grabbing a copy should contact the FLOURISH team directly through www.flourish-fest.com
Black Lives Matter Fredericton is a grassroots organization on which Black communities in New Brunswick can work towards dismantling all forms of anti-Black racism, liberate Blackness, support Black healing, affirm Black existence, and create freedom to love and self- determination.
FLOURISH 2021 will take place in Fredericton June 10-13.
“In times of crisis, art continues to flourish – providing us with comfort and community. The zine, composed of fourteen postcards, is intended to share. We encourage you to mail them out: compose a love letter, send your friends music recommendations and recipes, or write your government officials about issues that concern you.” – FLOURISH
