Here are five shows happening across five different downtown venues this weekend.
Bridges | October 7 | Klub Khrome | 10 p.m. | View Event
Here’s your chance to experience one of Fredericton’s best House DJs, performing an epic 3+ hours of live music. Bridges (aka Jesse Hitzroth) doesn’t perform live all that often so this show is kind of a treat. And be sure to check out Bridges on Soundcloud. Oh yeah, this show is free!
Some Dads + Stonemasons | October 7 | The Cap | 9 p.m. | View Event
There will come a day when Stonemasons will no longer be known as “that band of young fellers I seen at Grimross that time.” There will also come a time when Some Dads will be Some Grand Dads. Time is of the essence here. See them all while they’re still young and able bodied.
Digital Circus | October 8 | Tipsy Muse Café | 7 p.m. View Event
Three things to know about this show: 1) Digital Circus will be celebrating the release of a brand new EP which you will be able to download or stream prior to the show. 2) Shawn Randal will start the night off with a little live beat making. 3) The Tipsy Muse Café is one of the most versatile and intimate performance spaces in the city. That is all.
Ron Sexsmith | October 8 | Fredericton Playhouse | 7:30 p..m. | View Event
Everyone should experience Ron Sexsmith live in concert at least once in their lives. It’s no exaggeration to call him one of Canada’s greatest living singer songwriters.
Pillow Fite + I Me Mine Collective | October 8 | Broken Record B&MR | 10:30 p.m. | View Event
Easily the most diverse show on this weekend’s list of recommends, Saturday’s Pillow Fite and the I Me Mine Collective show will feature a mix of Halifax-based performers playing alt-folk, roots and minimalist indie pop. Lots of variety. Check out the event page for links, videos and even a playlist. Should be a time.
