One of the most anticipated releases of the year has landed. It was worth the wait.
For the past several months there has been a buzz about town. “Dillon Anthony’s project is dropping soon.” There was whispered talk and shifty glances. No one wanted to really spill the beans or let the cat out of the bag early, but everyone knew this project was going to be something worth celebrating. Well, the wait is over.
Anthony released the Four Stories EP today. The project takes the idea of musical collaboration to a whole new level. Spread over the four tracks are 12 voices and 11 musicians. The list of contributors reads like a who’s who of Fredericton musicians including Cedric Noel, Tim Walker, Josh Bravener, Alan Jeffries, Kelly Waterhouse, Keegan MC and many others.
But behind incredible the cast and crew is the overarching vision of one remarkable musician – Dillon Anthony.
“It began out of an exercise in a way of, ‘Can I do this?’,” said Anthony, speaking with writer Kate Butler last month after he released the first single, The Fox. “Out of that exercise I realized I wanted to write story songs which were all kind of connected. I always enjoyed writing short stories and it’s what I felt most comfortable doing. That’s where the Four Stories EP originated from.”
Congratulations on this fine release, Dillon.
