Award winning ballet company return to the Fredericton Playhouse with their production, Piaf.
The Atlantic Ballet Theatre recently returned from a European tour that saw the company’s production of Piaf, performed for audiences in France and Belguim. And now, the show is returning the Fredericton Playhouse stage where it made its debut performance in May 2014.
“It was very well received in France and Belgium,” said Artistic Director and choreographer Igor Dobrovolskiy.
“We have many people who missed the first performance and would like to see this production,” he added, commenting on the production’s continued longevity.
In Canada, Piaf has been performed in Edmonston, Caraquet, Miramichi, Edmundston, Saint John, Moncton, Halifax and also toured nationally to British Columbia, Alberta and Quebec including a stop at Montreal’s théâtre Outremont.
While this may be the last New Brunswick date for some time, Piaf may return in future seasons with Atlantic Ballet Theatre of Canada.
“We would like continue our tour with Piaf and we have some theatres who would like present this production,” said Dobrovolskiy.
If you missed it the first time, don’t miss the company’s return to the Fredericton Playhouse March 24. It may be the last New Brunswick opportunity to enjoy Edith Piaf’s voice brought to life by one of Atlantic Canada’s leading ballet companies.
