It’s a big week for music in Fredericton as Flourish welcomes some of the best emerging indie acts Canada has to offer.

I love this time of year. Besides bidding a fond farewell to the snow and the colder temperatures we’ve endured for longer than we’d like, springtime in Fredericton is filled with live music. This week welcomes the fourth edition of Flourish, an annual celebration of artists, musicians and performers of all kinds who come together each year to share their art in some of the city’s most intimate venues and spaces.

This year’s festival lineup includes the work of visual artists from as far away as Toronto and across the Maritimes. There’s also comedy c/o The Hot Garbage Comedy Collective (performing Thursday night at Wilser’s Room) and of course, there’s a ton of music. To help get you familiar with the sounds of Flourish 2018, We have put together a list of featuring several of the musicians performing this week at The Capital Complex, Picaroons’ Roundhouse, the Charlotte Street Arts Centre, the Gallery on Queen, Read’s Newsstand and Café  and at the Shiftwork Studio. I encourage you all to carve out a little time in your daily routine to listen to some of these artists listed here and of course, to join this dedicated and inspiring community by taking in some of the many performances planned. With several free and all-ages events taking place, I can assure you the risk is minimal and the payoff is HUGE.

For a full lineup of performances and to learn more about each of the artists participating in this year’s festival, visit www.flourish-fest.com and plan to take part in what will surely be a memorable weekend. See you there.
