Here’s a quick look at a few shows happening at Read’s Newsstand and Café this week.
In case you haven’t heard, Read’s Newsstand and Café have been hosting a wealth of live performances over the past few months with everything from guitar driven punk and garage music to the out there and unclassifiable.
It’s great to see a home for all-ages performances delivering the goods on such a consistent level. Here’s a peek at what’s coming up this week.
August 2
Motherhood welcome some pals from Ontario. Sweet Dave & The Shallow Graves (ex-TV Freaks) and Teenanger (Telephone Explosion crew) stop by the King Street coffee shop to perform street side, along with local favs Sam Salmon & The Grand Manan Bandits. All this fun for a suggested donation of just $8.

Calgary, Montreal and Fredericton meet face-to-face in a sonic showdown on this three band bill that includes garage-pop, drone and spaced out freak karaoke. What’s not to love? Possibly the best bang for your $7 on a sleepy summer Thursday. See you there!
