When it comes to streaming music, there are not a lot of artists from New Brunswick who have accomplished what Jessica Rhaye and the Ramshackle Parade have. They may not be international touring sensations or even regulars on commercial radio. But for a significant number of Bob Dylan fans, Jessica Rhaye and the Ramshackle Parade’s interpretation of Bob Dylan’s Blowin’ in the Wind is a bonafide hit. A homerun. A smashing success.

Yesterday, Rhaye shared a screenshot of her YouTube page indicating the song’s video had reached 10,004,870 streams, along with the message, “To know that so many people from all over the world have watched and listened to our version of Bob Dylan’s timeless classic – “Blowin’ in the Wind” – is just incredibly amazing, exciting and unreal! THANK YOU!!!”

Filmed and edited by Jordan Mattie Visuals, the video features Rhaye and company singing, walking and occasionally interacting with passersby in various locations in and around Saint John. It is a fitting and playful accompaniment to a timeless song.

Jessica Rhaye and the Ramshackle Parade’s cover of Bob Dylan’s Blowin’ in the Wind is one of nine that appear on the group’s 2019 album, Just Like A Woman: Songs of Bob Dylan.
