Timeraiser 150 Fredericton will bring art lovers, local non-profits and sponsors together in a night of creativity and community-building, as part of Canada 150.

Hosted by the Framework Foundation, in local partnership with the United Way of Central New Brunswick, Isaac’s Way, and Feels Good Community, Timeraiser is a silent art auction with a twist.  Featuring art from local artists such as Marie Fox and Derek Davidson, attendees will bid on original art with volunteer hours, not dollars.

On May 4th, 2017 at 7pm, Fredericton’s second Timeraiser will take place at the Fredericton Boyce Farmers Market (665 George Street). The event is a win-win-win situation: participants find meaningful volunteer opportunities, artists are paid market price for their work, and nonprofits attract skilled volunteers to their causes, all during a rollicking night on the town.

Feels Good’s Paul McAllister says his organisation is excited to be involved again this year and have enjoyed partnering with the United Way of Central New Brunswick and Isaac’s Way to help make the event happen.

“We were really quite excited when The United Way reached out to us to come on as a partner for the second annual Time Raiser,” said McAllister. “From everything we’ve seen so far, this event is going to blow last year’s out of the water! Which is saying quite a bit as last year’s event was sold out and raised over 2000 volunteer hours.”

Throughout the evening, attendees will meet with various charities and non-profit organizations to find available volunteer opportunities. The Timeraiser twist? Rather than bid money on artwork, participants bid volunteer hours. Winning bidders have one year to complete volunteer hours and, if they fulfill their commitment, are rewarded with their chosen piece of art.

Live performances include the Joel LeBlanc Trio, as well as live painting by artists Angel Terry and Laura Forrester. Graystone Brewing will be pouring on site, as well as numerous local Food Trucks.
