SappyFest 12 announces Weaves, Lido Pimienta, Daniel Romano, Partner, Willie Thrasher, and more as part of initial lineup.
Weaves, Lido Pimienta, Daniel Romano, Partner, Willie Thrasher, Bernice, Tough Age, Teenanger, Myriam Gendron, and The Highest Order are the initial acts announced for SappyFest 12 in Sackville, NB.
This year’s festival will also include an exhibition and artist talk by Lido Pimienta, readings by Notes Of A Feminist Killjoy author Erin Wunker, film screenings programmed by Native North America Vol. 1 curator Kevin Howes, and intimate small-scale acoustic shows in the Golden Bus, a converted school bus.
“We are thrilled to welcome these rare and wonderful artists and performers to Sackville this August to take part in SappyFest 12; we are thrilled by their bold challenges, their brave truth telling, their wisdom and wildness and weirdness, their guitar playing and image making, their singing and thinking and poetry,” says Steven Lambke, Creative Director of SappyFest. “When we gather together with open minds and kind hearts we can make magic; together we can open a space where we can all hear and be heard, where we can see and be seen, a space where we can meet and be truthful and celebrate.”
A very limited number of early bird passes are on sale now for $95 (taxes and fees include) and are available HERE.
