After a long life well lived, it is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of the Shifty Bits Cult. Surrounded by friends and family in her home on Smythe Street in Fredericton, the Cult went peacefully to the realm beyond in November 2016. Her last moments will be remembered always as a night of great vigor, jamming, laughing, and enjoying the company of her family that loved her so.
The Shifty Bits Cult loved music and art above all else, and was constantly innovating new ways to support the artists she believed in. Fond memories of the Cult include her themed parties, various collaborative events, compilations, and, of course, her beloved Shifty Bits Circus. The Cult’s contribution to the community will not quickly be forgotten and her legacy lives on in those left in her wake.
The Shifty Bits Cult is survived by an extensive and supportive family: Her loving husband Drew Budovitch, parents Penelope Stevens and Joel Dixon, and Luke Saunders, Matthew Legere, Brydon Crain, Cameron Crain, Ryan Cooper, Adam Sipkema, Sabrina Thibodeau, Dana Budovitch, and Keith Hallett (brothers and sisters). She is also survived by a large extended family that loved her dearly, and made her into the great force she became.
Condolences can be made through the Cult’s Facebook page. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Nashwaak Watershed Association, to protect the Cult’s favourite waters for generations to come.
The Funeral service will be held on January 28th, 2017, with location to be announced. In keeping with the Cult’s last wishes, the funeral will be a huge party.
