The Traveller Part 1 arrives just in time for festival season.
The Traveller is the follow-up to 2015’s Vol. III that gave us the infectious and slightly eerie, Rubies & Jewellery, the contagious dance floor track that helped introduce New Brunswick music fans to a dancier side of our province’s musical lineage. The release also received nominations for both Music New Brunswick and East Coast Music Awards for Electronic Album of the Year.
“The Traveller Part I is the first half of The Traveller album,” said Clifford Doucette, the creative mind behind the project. “The full album will be released on vinyl in late 2016 or early 2017 depending on how long the vinyl takes to be pressed, which can be a lengthy wait.
“I decided to release the album in two parts because of the long wait to have vinyl pressed,” he said. “I didn’t want to have to wait an extra six to eight months to share new music.”
According to Doucette, The Traveller album has a reoccurring theme that paints an abstract picture of a traveller’s journey to be reunited with their lover and the revelations and personal alchemy that happens along the way. “Sometimes this storyline is told clearly throughout the album and at other times it is told symbolically,” he said.
